One of the things I like about Stratford is its uniqueness. I can go there and find shops and places that I cannot find elsewhere. Having grown up in Stratford, it would be easy for me to put it on a pedestal, but I am now living in a nearby small town, so I get a different perspective of the city than when I lived there. Of course, the city has its drawbacks (downtown parking, for example,anyone with me here?), but its positives far outweigh the negatives.
There are so many individual shops that are sure to please...some do cost a little more, but I do believe that you often get what you pay for. My favourite shop is Rheo Thompson's...I have no problem making the drive just to pick up even a small box of the heavenly mint smoothies....or the pecan clusters...or the chocolate covered licorice. The list is endless!!
